Queerama started life as a 69 minute film for the BBC and BFI. It premiered at Sheffield Docfest in the opening night slot at City Hall. The film was made to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967. There are one hundred queer films edited together in Queerama, to a sountrack by John Grant, Goldfrapp and Hercules & Love Affair. The film has screened all over the world including South Korea, Russia and Romania. It was broadcast on BBC4 in July 2017 and is now available on DVD from the BFI shop. Queerama Workshops are designed to help many more LGBTQ+ people tell their stories, set both in the past and the present.
